Rachel, Day by Day
Maybe I should clear something else up too since I did in my last post! I am not engaged. This is my grandma’s engagement ring. She died in 2009 and my mom and grandpa decided that I could wear it. I am honored to wear this ring and I’m thankful that they gave it to me. I think of her every time I look at it. It is a gorgeous ring. I wear it on my right hand so people don’t think I’m engaged, but I guess it could be confusing. Some people do wear their wedding rings on their right hands. I’d rather have my grandma back than wear this, though. I miss her a lot.
I have two questions regarding this photo. One, do you think I have baby hands? My mom always tells me that my hands are tiny and they look like baby hands. She even had a laughing fit one time about it.
Here’s the second question. Do you see that tiny red dot on the left side of my pinky finger? Well, that has been there for years and I have no idea what it is. It seriously looks like a very tiny blood clot. I’m not sure if I should do something about it. It’s under my skin, but it looks like it’s getting close to the surface. I’ll show it to you next time I see you. Ok, I’ll stop grossing you out now.
So, today was a weird day. How do I make this long story short? Well, I got my tennis racket re-strung and picked it up at lunchtime today. I picked it up at Carle Clinic at the mall in Urbana since that’s where the woman (Emily) works at during the day. Anyway, I got lost and apparently went in the wrong section of Carle. Basically, the receptionist ended up yelling at me because she didn’t understand why I was there. Then she started ignoring me and I decided to sneak through these double doors that were just for employees. Anyway, I was still in the wrong place and finally left and found Emily. Emily says to me, “I can’t believe you got through those double doors. The front desk lady never lets anybody through those doors. She’s such a bitch!” I was very flustered after that. But the good news is, I got my tennis racket and played well after work today!
