Day 265: Christmas Decorations

Rachel, Day by Day

To get in the holiday spirit, here are some Christmas decorations for you! I usually don’t like those inflatable decorations, but these do look nice. I just think they look a little strange when they are deflated during the day. It looks like there’s garbage on the lawn. Anyway, I like this house! They are just festive enough without having too many decorations. I especially like the giant penguin since I’m a big fan of them in general. Too bad you can’t have pet penguins. There’s something about Christmas lights and decorations that make me really happy. My dad loved decorating the house every year, too. He did like putting out the nativity scene, which you don’t see as much anymore. It’s a little sad. Anyway, nice decorations!

Today was the first day of winter! Hard to believe, isn’t it? It feels like this all started months ago. We have three more months until the first day of spring, so hang on! I really don’t mind winter too much; the only thing I don’t like is driving in really bad conditions. It’s still nice to look outside your window and see the snow falling down. Maybe this year, I’ll build a snowman.

So, for those of you who don’t know, I’ve been using my mom’s camera for the past month or so because mine broke. There were purple streaks on the camera screen that showed up in the pictures, too. I got my camera back yesterday from Best Buy, but guess what? I still see purple. I can actually see what I’m taking a picture of now, but most things are still purple in the photo. So, it’s being repaired again. I miss my camera. But, thanks for letting me borrow your camera, Mommy!

I played tennis today with work friends! It was a lot of fun; I miss playing every week. There were two guys on the court next to us and they were amazing. I kept pausing to watch them play; I was mesmerized. They probably thought I was checking them out, but I was really in awe of their tennis skills. Oh well, I’ll probably never see them again.

I heard on the news this morning that there have been salmonella outbreaks across the state from alfalfa sprouts. Jimmy Johns puts a ton of those on sandwiches. I think they got rid of them for now, but I’d still be scared to eat there right now! And I love Jimmy Johns. I’m craving it right now.

I passed Jiffy Lube this morning, and their sign mentioned something about how a gift card to Jiffy Lube would be a great Christmas present. That made me laugh. I can’t imagine giving that to someone or receiving that. It wouldn’t be the most exciting gift in the world. But, I guess it would be better than nothing!

Have a good night!

  1. I have to say, it was a little awkward when those guys would take a break, and then sit on the bench facing us. I didn’t like being on that side when they did. They were really close….
