Day 368: Coach Purse

Rachel, Day by Day

Hello, everyone! Sorry I took a few days off, but it was much needed. But, I’m back for now! I’ve had a great weekend. My mom decided to visit me, so we had a fun girlie weekend. We went shopping on Saturday at the outlet mall near town, and my mom bought this Coach purse! I think it’s really cute. I was tempted to buy one for myself, but I resisted. There are so many cute purses in that store, but they are pretty pricey. I can’t imagine ever buying a Louis Vuitton purse or a Birkin bag. Luckily the prices are cheaper at outlet malls! I really do like this purse; you can use it in any season since it’s a neutral color. Good shopping, Mom!

On Friday night, we went out to dinner at Seven Saints and had drinks at Boltini. Seven Saints is always delicious; I ate a Greek salad. My mom had salmon sliders, which looked very good. We also had crab cakes for an appetizer. Yum! I really wanted a chicken slider, but I couldn’t eat meat due to Lent. That’s ok, though. I love the Greek salad. Next time I go there, I might get a few sliders. Boltini was really crowded, but we luckily found two open seats at the bar. I had a key lime martini that was delicious! I wrote down the ingredients hoping I can try making it someday. I should pay attention when the bartenders make these drinks! I really like Boltini since it’s a nicer bar, but it’s still somewhat casual. And I do love martinis, so that helps.

On Friday night, my mom and I watched The Way We Were. I really liked that movie and am surprised I made it this long without seeing it! I liked Robert Redford and Barbra Streisand’s chemistry throughout the movie, but I wish things ended differently. DON’T READ THE REST IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING!! I guess they couldn’t end up together since they wanted different things in life and did not agree on everything. She was a difficult woman. Sad. I think they’ll always love each other, but can’t be together. The ending was sad, but great, though. I like her line, “Your girl is lovely, Hubbell.”

As I mentioned earlier, my mom and I went shopping on Saturday! I got a lot of awesome clothes for the spring and summer. I’m so excited to wear my new clothes! It was a great shopping day.

I realized I haven’t spent time just with my mom in a long time. It was great. We were able to talk and catch up about everything. I miss our conversations. We do talk on the phone, but it’s never the same compared to talking in person. I miss my mommy.
