Rachel, Day by Day
Double Take

Photo on left: Taken in December of 1994.
Photo on right: Taken in April of 2011.
Here we are, the three of us. In both of these photos, my brother is on the left, I’m in the middle, and my mom is on the right. I like how we are all positioned in the same way. These photos are more than 17 years apart! For the photo on the left, we were celebrating my mom’s birthday. We probably went out to dinner and then ate cupcakes back at the house. So, of course my mom had to get a photo with her two little kids! Gosh, I was 8 years old at the time. Look at the phone behind us! That was when they had long cords and we didn’t have caller ID yet in the house. We never knew who was calling back then! Anyway, I’m sure my dad took this photo, or maybe one of my grandparents. My mom has the same pretty smile in both photos. 🙂 But Ray and I look completely different! I used to have trouble keeping my eyes open in photos.
For the photo on the right, we were at Drury Lane enjoying an Easter brunch. We went with my Grandpa and Uncle John, too. Their brunch was huge; we enjoyed eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, crab cakes, shrimp, meat carving stations, fruit, pastas, a dessert section, and so much more! I definitely remember being full after that. I like taking photos with my family when we are dressed up, so we had to get this one. I think I got my photo with the Easter bunny earlier, too. Good times!
Anyway, I just wanted to show how the three of us have changed over the years. We were a close family back then and we definitely still are now. I don’t know what I’d do without my brother and mom. They mean the world to me and I’m lucky to have them in my lives. I love you both!
