Day 777: Reflection

When will my reflection show who I am inside? (In case you didn’t know, this line is in the song Reflections from Mulan.)

Well folks, here is a reflection for you. I went shopping and had lunch with my mom, so I took this photo through the side mirror while she was driving. It’s a cool shot since you can see the house in the back while looking through the mirror. Too bad there wasn’t something more interesting behind us, but that’s OK. I didn’t really want to take a photo of myself in a mirror or anything, so this is what you get for today! Enjoy.

I’m going to my friend Christina’s birthday party tonight!! I’m excited to see her and everyone. Woo!

Well, sadly today is my last day of the February photo challenge. Overall, it wasn’t really challenging, but that’s OK. I had fun coming up with ideas even though some might have been boring. Maybe I need to find more difficult challenges! I hope you all enjoyed reading my February posts and looking at the photos. I might do another one of these challenges in April, but don’t worry… I’ll definitely be posting in March! Lots of things to look forward to.

Have a lovely Saturday!

Day 776: My View Today

Day 776: My View Today

Yep… this is my view.

Happy Friday! Today’s photo had to be my view. So this is the view from my cubicle at work. It’s not the nicest, but it’s not the worst. It was a nice sunny day today, which helped! I wish my view had mountains or an awesome waterfall, but Illinois isn’t that cool. We should work on that. Maybe my view will look better in the spring? We shall see.

It’s been a good Friday night! My family and I went to a restaurant I’ve never been to before called Pappadeaux. It’s a delicious seafood kitchen; I ate some really good tilapia. Mmmm. My mom and I had some good wine, too! The place was packed, so it was good we made a reservation. I would definitely go there again. I ate way too much, though.

Yay, it’s the weekend!! Woo!!

Day 775: Light

Day 775: Light

You might have to look away… it’s the bright sun!

I can’t believe it, but the sun was out for most of the day! I decided to take a crazy photo showing direct sunlight. I like how purplish blobs show up in the photo around the sun. It gives it a cool effect. Too bad the sun wasn’t bringing much warmth today, though. I think my eyes are still adjusting to the sun after having many dark and dreary days in the winter. I was squinting a lot today! Or maybe I should find my sunglasses… that would help. Anyway, there’s some light for you.

For you Blackhawks fans, did you hear Patrick Kane is injured and out for possibly 12 weeks? I will miss him. But, I think the Blackhawks can do it! I have faith in them.

Did anyone watch Amazing Race? If not, this season has 6 teams of dating couples and 5 teams of blind dates. I didn’t think I’d like it very much, but it was pretty interesting to see! I’m excited for this season. They went to Japan for the first episode; it would be cool to go there, but it would be difficult not knowing the language. It looks so busy, modern, and cultured. There are so many cool places outside the U.S.!

Enjoy your Thursday night.

Day 774: Cut

Day 774: Cut

A tiny cut on my finger.

I’m glad I didn’t get a major cut on my finger, but here’s an extremely tiny one for you. I noticed it on my drive to work this morning and I have no clue where it came from. Can you even see it? It’s on my middle finger. I probably ran my hand into something. This happens to my hands a lot… I get random cuts and scrapes and I don’t know how they got there. I wonder if most of them are paper cuts. Eek. I should brag about my fingernails, though. This is the longest they’ve been in about 2 years! I’m not biting them for a change. Maybe I’m growing up a bit!

Who watches Amazing Race? I didn’t know until last night, but the season premiere is on tonight! And then the show will continue to be on Fridays. I’m excited! I guess this seasons will have a dating twist… we’ll see how that goes.

I’m going to visit my grandpa tonight! It’s always a great time seeing him. 🙂

Enjoy your Wednesday evening.

Day 773: Half

Day 773: Half

Half of my sandwich.

This is yet another odd photo day… half of a turkey and cheese sandwich. How do you take an exciting photo of half of something? This sandwich tasted good, so that’s a plus. I wish I could think of something amazing; sorry, folks. It’s too cold to take photos outside, too! Ugh. Anyway, I brought this sandwich for lunch today and ate some pretzels with it. Fun times.

I’m going to trivia with my brother tonight! I really stink at trivia, but it’s still fun. At least I’m learning things. And the Blackhawks are on tonight, so that’s even better! I hope they kick butt.

I talked to a man today who lives near Boston; he was telling me he hasn’t stopped shoveling snow for weeks. I honestly can’t imagine what it would be like to live there right now. I feel so bad for them! We really have no right to complain about this winter in Illinois… winters have been a lot worse in the past. It’s almost March, which is a good thing! I love spring.

Have a good evening!

Day 772: This Is Where I Relax!

Day 772: This Is Where I Relax!

My bed and my lovely stuffed animals.

So, this is where I relax: my bed. I tend to sit on my bed when listening to music, reading on my kindle, or doing things on my laptop. I feel relaxed and calm in this location. Plus, my stuffed animals keep me company! Maybe it’s more relaxing because I don’t have a TV in my room, either. I can just listen to music and type away. And then I go to sleep. Good times.

So, who watched the Oscars last night? I thought it was a good show overall and I enjoy watching it every year. Here are the worst and best moments of the Oscars, in my opinion!

Worst
1. Sean Penn presenting. He said: “Who gave this son of a bitch his green card?” I think he was hoping it would be a joke, but it wasn’t funny.
2. Matthew McConnaughey taking forever to announce the best actress Oscar (Julianne Moore won). I wonder if he did it on purpose.
3. Neil Patrick Harris’ Oscar predictions in the briefcase bit. It got old after a while.
4. John Travolta touching Idina Menzel’s face. I feel bad for her.
5. Some speeches were way too long, which is why the whole show went over 30 minutes.

Best
1. Neil Patrick Harris’ opening song. I thought he was good host overall, too!
2. J.K. Simmon’s best supporting actor speech. Here’s part of it: “Call your mom, call your dad. If you’re lucky enough to have a parent or two alive on this planet, call them. Don’t text; don’t email. Call them on the phone and tell them you love them. And thank them and listen to them for as long as they want to talk to you.” Click here for the whole speech.
3. Lady Gaga singing a medley of Sound of Music songs for its 50th anniversary. It was AMAZING and brought me to tears. Here’s a video I found of it:

4. Graham Moore’s (Imitation Game screenwriter) speech. Here is most of it: “When I was 16 years old, I tried to kill myself because I felt weird. And I felt different. And I felt like I did not belong. And now I’m standing here, and so I would like for this moment to be for that kid out there who feels like she’s weird or she’s different or she doesn’t fit in anywhere. Yes, you do. I promise you do. You do. Stay weird; stay different. And then when it’s your turn, and you are standing on this stage, please pass the same message.” Click here for his whole speech.
5. Eddie Redmayne winning best actor for The Theory of Everything. I like him!

So, those are my thoughts on the Oscars. And now I want to watch Sound of Music. Maybe I will sometime this week!

Day 771: An Act of Kindness

Day 771: An Act of Kindness

Scott cleaning.

I thought this was pretty kind of Scott; he is dusting our coffee table. How nice! I hate dusting and it annoys my allergies, so he dusted all of the tables this morning. What a good guy. And he’s even smiling while cleaning… maybe because I’m taking a photo of him. Thank you for dusting!

So, who’s going to watch the Oscars tonight? I’m currently watching the Red Carpet and I love it! So far I like Felicity Jones’ dress the most, but there’s more Red Carpet to come! I only saw one nominated movie (American Sniper), but I’m still interested to see who wins. We shall see!

Have a good evening!

Day 770: Funny

Day 770: Funny

A store called Nerds on Call.

Today’s photo had to be of something funny. I happened to see this store while driving around town with Scott and it made me chuckle a bit. So, I thought, why not include it in my blog? Maybe you don’t agree, but I thought the name was funny! I assumed they help you with computer- and electronics-related problems, and I was right! Their website is www.callrnerds.com and they specialize in computer repair services. Good for them! It’s probably a good business to get into since many of us have electronics problems occasionally. It’s a silly name, but memorable!

It’s been a nice Saturday! I like being able to relax in the morning. We ran some errands during the day, ate lunch at Panera, and who knows what’s next! It’s a nicer day out, which essentially means it’s not -8 degrees.

I can’t believe February is almost over. So, who has liked the February Challenge? I might end up doing this every other month; it would take too much effort to do this every month the whole year.

Have a good evening!

Day 769: Peace

Day 769: Peace

Beautiful ocean sand.

I think this is pretty peaceful… sand from the ocean. I thought about holding up my fingers and taking a photo of the peace sign, but that was pretty boring. This would be more exciting if I was at the actual ocean! Sorry about that. I didn’t want to hop on an airplane just for this post. I’m not that dedicated. Anyway, I love sand and the ocean, so that counts as peaceful today!

It’s been a good Friday evening! I spent time with my husband’s family and now I’m at home drinking wine with the hubby. I like relaxing Friday nights! Good times.

Enjoy the weekend!

Day 768: Feet

Day 768: Feet

Hopefully they aren’t smelly.

Well, here are my feet. This is not the most exciting photo in the world, but how do you make a photo of feet exciting? I could have gotten a pedicure and painted my nails awesome colors. But, that would take too long. I actually have a problem with my feet; I think they have poor circulation. They are pretty much cold all through winter, except when I’m taking a hot shower. Even when I wear heavy socks and shoes they are still very cold. This started a few years ago… I remember walking around my apartment barefoot; all of a sudden my feet got extremely cold. I looked down and they were purple. They still sometimes turn slightly purple, but then I just put more socks on. I miss walking around barefoot. Maybe I’ll be able to do that again in June. So, that’s the story of my cold feet.

New topic! I’ve been wanting to post this video for a while now related to the Chicago Cubs. It gets me pumped for the 2015 season.

Doesn’t that give you goosebumps? I’m more excited for this season than usual, but I’m still the concerned Cubs fan. I hope I can go to a few games this year!

Have a good evening!
