Day 762: Perfect

Day 762: Perfect

Does a beautiful flower count as being perfect?

What a perfect day! OK, not really. Today had to be a picture of something perfect. If you think about it, nothing is perfect, so maybe I shouldn’t have posted a photo today. But I wanted to give you something, so here’s a beautiful photo of a flower! Scott was kind enough to send me Valentine’s Day roses at work today. It was a very nice surprise! Red roses are gorgeous and they smell great, so they are close to being perfect! I love them!

It’s the weekend! I plan to sleep in; I had a hard time sleeping this week. How did it get so cold all of a sudden? Ugh.

Well, it’s time for me to have dinner with my wonderful family. Have a good night!

February 2015 Photo a Day: Day 9

Day 758: Details

Details of my wedding flowers.

Happy Monday! Today I had to take a photo of details. That is a general topic, so the options were wide open! I decided to take a photo of my wedding flowers (see above). I still have them in a vase and they are all dried out. They definitely don’t have the pretty look they had on my wedding day anymore, but that’s OK. I like the vintage look! You can sort of tell those flowers used to be lavender and white. They don’t smell as nice anymore, either. But, I’m sentimental and want to keep them!

Today was a typical Monday full of work. Anyone watch the Grammy Awards last night? I watched parts of it; I couldn’t really get into it I guess. It’s not my favorite show, but I liked a lot of the music. As weird as she is, I really like Sia’s song Chandelier. And Kristen Wiig’s random appearance was awesome! Good times.

Well, time to go relax! Enjoy your night. And also, happy birthday to Tom Hiddleston!

Day 605: Valentine’s Day

Day 605: Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s been a good day! I ate lots of chocolate at work today, gave a presentation that went really well, and I got flowers from Scott (see photo)! They are really pretty and, of course, I love pink. Thank you, Scott! When I got home, he gave me a really cool sign to put on the wall. It says You are the horizon to my sky; you are the laces to my sneakers; you are the gravy to my mashed potatoes; you are the bubbles to my bath; you are the icing to my cupcake. It’s so cute! I think the mashed potatoes sentence is my favorite. I got Scott a personalized puzzle; it’s a photo I took in San Francisco. At the bottom of the puzzle, it says San Francisco 2011. Here he is working on it already!

Day 605: Valentine's Day

I think I did a good job at gift buying this year. He’s still working on it as I type this; he’s determined! It’s been a nice relaxing night. I’ve been watching some chick flicks most of the night, too!

So, for Lent, I decided to give up beer and wine. I think I will have a difficult time with wine; I’ve been drinking it more often lately! I was trying to think of something different and I’ve never given these up before. We’ll see how it goes.

Have a good Valentine’s Day!

Day 543: Flowers (Challenge Day 28)

Rachel, Day by Day

30 Day Photography Challenge: Day 28

Orange flowers are so pretty! These are on the side of my grandpa’s house. There’s something about the orange and green together that’s so pretty. I love flowers! I’m glad I got to take a photo of some for this challenge. I’m not even sure if my grandpa planted these; I think they just popped up on their own. Which makes them more fun and unique! Anyone know what kind of flowers these are? I love the spring when people plant flowers and they just bloom out of nowhere. It’s such a pretty season. So is fall!

I had a nice Memorial Day! Of course, we should remember those who have or currently are serving in our armed forces. It’s amazing that they risk their lives for us. Thank you to all of you! You are amazing people. I spent the day with Scott and his family and had a cookout. We ate a lot, played bags, played with some water guns and splashed each other, and had a nice afternoon in the backyard. It was a nice day off! Too bad we don’t have three-day weekends all the time!

Have you created a bucket list for yourself? I started to since it seems cool, but I started getting sad. There are a lot of things I want to do and some things seem impossible. I love traveling to new places, but how can people afford to travel around the whole world? It seems hopeless!

Day 540: Something Pink (Challenge Day 25)

Rachel, Day by Day

30 Day Photography Challenge: Day 25

Hello! Here’s is something cute and pink for you. This is a little flower on my cute, summery purse. I love this purse and I probably use it too much! I like how most of it is black and white, but there’s the the extra pink flower and line that makes it even better! My purse is sadly getting a bit dirty, though. Can you wash purses? Maybe hand wash. I’d be worried about ruining it, though. Anyone have any tips??

Yay, weekend! Scott and I went out to a bar with my brother and his friends. It was a good time. I haven’t seen some of his friends in a long time, so it was good to catch up. We ate an awesome dinner at Portillos, too. It might be good that I don’t live near one; I’d probably be there every single day. Why doesn’t the Portillos franchise expand?? They would make so much money! At least expand to college campuses in Illinois since a lot of people come from the Chicago suburbs. Think about it, Portillos! I got to see my uncle and grandpa briefly last night, too. Good times!

I wish I could afford awesome movie channels on my TV. My mom and brother have an amazing Comcast package because they can watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II whenever they want! Not that they would, though. I’d probably watch it every day! Anyway, my point is they have good movie channels.

Yay, Friday!

Day 517: What You Wore Today (Challenge Day 2)

Rachel, Day by Day

30 Day Photography Challenge: Day 2

Well, here’s a photo of what I wore today! I bought this top recently and I love it! I probably wouldn’t have bought this top if the flowers weren’t on it; they are very pretty. I love the spring and I love wearing springy flowery clothes again! I don’t miss my winter coat. Anyway, I wear these flat black shoes a lot, but they are comfy and nice. And of course jeans are always great. I really don’t know what else to say about this outfit. I like it, though!

I went to a cardio class at work today. It was intense! I’m very tired. We jumped around a lot and lifted weights. I have a feeling my arms will hurt a bit tomorrow. I’m usually not sore after this class, but I was a bit after Monday’s class. At least I’m trying to get in shape!

Since I had a bad driving story for you recently, I have a good one for you today! I got some gas after work and I was trying to make a left turn out of the gas station. A woman waved to let me go, but I was having a hard time seeing if cars were coming from the other way (a giant truck was in my way). I happened to glance back at the woman and she gave me a thumbs up (basically telling me there were no cars around). I inched out to check and she was correct. So, I turned left. That was very nice of her! I waved as I drove past her. It’s good to know there are some nice drivers out there!

Happy Wednesday!

Day 507: Beautiful Tree

Rachel, Day by Day

Welcome to spring, everyone! I love these beautiful purple trees. What are they called anyway? They seem to be the first ones that bloom in the spring. It’s nice seeing the green leaves start to grow back! Even though winter wasn’t that bad, I always look forward to the spring and summer. It means we get to go outside in nice weather more often! It has been a bit warmer than usual for March, but I’m ok with that. It’s better than scraping ice off of our cars. Get ready for more awesome flowery and scenic photos on my blog! Yay, spring!

I found out officially this week that I have asthma. Yay (this is sarcasm). But, the good news is, it’s really not that bad. I only need the albuterol inhaler on an as-need basis, so I can live with that! I wonder how long I’ve had it; how can you just randomly get this?? Oh well; I guess I’ll never know! It fits for my randomosity blog!

I’m watching the show Four Weddings right now. Basically, four women go to each others weddings, rate them, and whoever has the highest rating gets a free honeymoon. Right now I’m thinking these women are being too critical. One woman complained about a few babies crying at a ceremony and gave her a lower score for that. How could the bride and groom avoid that? Yell at the people who show up with babies? That would be rude! I don’t think I’m that pick, so I’d probably give everyone an 8 or 9 out of 10. Hmmm, should Scott and I be on this show? It would be nice to have a free honeymoon!

This week has been very busy, but good. The few highlights were going out for a few drinks with some friends and then getting pedicures with Anne today! The weather has been great, too. Yay for Friday tomorrow!!

Day 506: Yellow Flowers

Rachel, Day by Day

It’s the first sign of spring!! These yellow flowers are in front of Scott’s house; they are pretty! I’m assuming he didn’t plant them. I noticed these flowers are in his neighbor’s front yard, too. I like them a lot, though! The yellow really stands out in this photo, too. I was thinking the other day about what my favorite flower might be, and I thought of cherry blossoms. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen them in person, but I think they are beautiful in paintings and photos. Yay, flowers and spring! Welcome back!

I’ve had a good week! I went out with some friends on Wednesday night and we had a really good time. We went to Boltini and there happened to be a palm reader there. So, naturally, I got my palm read. Apparently my ring finger is longer than normal, so that means I’m sexy. I’m also leading a double life because I have two life lines (he basically said I’m one person at work and another person outside of work, but isn’t everybody?). Let’s see… I’m good at giving and taking, I act reserved but I’m really not, and I know my talents and want to be recognized for them. My plan is to start taking my double life seriously… watch out, world!

Woo weekend! And Mel and Larry are visiting! Yay, I’m so excited!! I’m going to go prepare for my crazier side in my double life right now. Hmmm, I should have a different name for my other side. What do you think it should be? Comment and let me know!!!

Day 504: Lamp

Rachel, Day by Day

Color Challenge: Violet Day 7

I can’t believe it’s the last day of my color challenge! It’s been a good time. Here is the last violet photo for you: a close-up of a lamp. The petals are violet and I like how the flowers look here. This is Scott’s parents’ lamp; thanks for letting me take this photo! I think my mom has a lamp like this, too; they are very nice and pretty. They look good when the light is on, too. Yay for pretty violet flowers on lamps! My lamps don’t have any pretty colors on them, but they are still nice and silver. Yay light.

It’s been a good Sunday! I went to church with my family this morning and then we went out for a late lunch/early dinner. My mom and I drank some green beer together; it was fun. I guess I’m celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day this whole week! I’m good with that. I already had some corned beef this weekend and am hoping to have some more again! Mmmm. Yummy. I got to see my grandpa today, which was great! I miss him. And my mom and brother. Next time I see them it’ll be Easter!

Scott and I watched Selection Sunday with his family this afternoon. It was fun; I haven’t seen them in a while! Well, I didn’t really pay attention to the selections, but I’ll figure that out later. Scott and I watched Amazing Race tonight, too. I really can’t stand Rachel and Brendon who were on Big Brother before! She drives me nuts. She cried maybe 3 or 4 times about stupid stuff. I want to slap her a bit. I really liked the ending. DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED IT YET! It was very nice of Art and J.J. to give money to Mark and Bopper. I think right now I’m cheering for Mark and Bopper to win. They have a lot of catching up to do, though. I don’t think they are my favorite team, but they deserve the money the most. That’s just my opinion.

Happy Sunday night! And I finished the color challenge… Yay! I might take a break for a few days, unless I see an awesome photo opportunity!

Day 493: Fake Flowers

Rachel, Day by Day

Color Challenge: Indigo Day 3

I know I’ve been saying this a lot this week, but I really hope these are indigo. They are more purplish when you look at them, but the lighting is weird in this photo. I like how this photo turned out! The vase is in the bottom left corner and I like how it blurs in the photo. The other flowers look cool behind these indigo ones, too. I keep fake flowers at my apartment since I tend to kill real ones. I’m not good at remembering to water them. Fake flowers are just as pretty!

You know what’s a bad idea? Grocery shopping when you are really hungry. Last time I went serious grocery shopping, I was really hungry and bought way more food than I really needed. And then I probably ate a whole bag of chips when I got home. Well, I never buy chips, but I’ve been into veggie sticks lately. But, when you are full, do you not buy as much food as you should? I guess I’ve never gone grocery shopping when I’ve been full. Interesting.

Happy Wednesday. Two more days!
